Rock With Me
In early 2016 Boo English decided to form a band that would incorporate his love of 70’s hard rock, funk, and blues. English is the result of four artists coming together to create something uniquely American in it’s roots, but universal in it’s message and accessibility.
The band is composed of lead guitarist/vocalist Boo English, drummer Loren Bates, bassist Todd Donnelly, and lead singer Dawn Moore. Between them, they have lived and performed all over the country and abroad; from Portland, Oregon and Upstate New York, to Tokyo, Japan, and London, England. Individually, they have collaborated and performed with Angel guitarist Punky Meadows, legendary drummer Vinnie Colaiuta, Josh Groban, British artist Jaki Graham, 80’s rock band Glacier, and Japanese pop artist Ken Hirai just to name a few. English have performed in Charlotte, North Carolina’s legendary venues Amos’ Southend, and the Fillmore, as well as many other local and regional live spots.
The members of English are an eclectic mix of styles and influences that range from 70’s and 80’s hard rock, R&B soul and funk, to 90’s grunge rock, and blues. These influences are most evident in their debut album entitled English. The album has received positive reviews from the Carolinas to the Pacific northwest, and Europe. Their style of music has been described as classic rock with a side of funk and blues; it’s positive feel-good music with strong melodies, driving bass line and guitar, and a whole lot of soul.
